Ingredients

  • 10 large sheets gim (dried seaweed)
  • 100 g rice flour
  • 300 ml water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Vegetable oil for deep-frying

Instructions

  1. Mix the rice flour, water and salt in a pot and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until a smooth paste forms.
  2. Let the paste cool until lukewarm.
  3. Pull each seaweed sheet through the rice flour paste so it is fully coated.
  4. Lay the coated seaweed sheets on parchment paper and let them dry for about 30 minutes.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep pot or deep fryer.
  6. Fry the seaweed sheets one at a time until golden and crisp. This usually takes about 1 to 2 minutes per side.
  7. Drain the fried seaweed sheets on paper towels to remove excess oil.
